Michael Muchioki was born May 5, 1982 in Jersey City, New Jersey. As a student of Marist High School in Bayonne, New Jersey, Mike participated in the chess and art club, in addition to playing for the football and bowling teams. Mike’s love for math, science and technology in high school was the motivation for his decision to enroll at the New Jersey Institute of Technology and major in Computer Science. His good grades throughout high school led to his acceptance in the Albert Dorman honors college his freshman year.
In the fall of 2001, Mike joined, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. ans was voted chapter president after one year. He would later come the Assistant District Director for the state of New Jersey, representing all undergraduate chapters. In addition to his work with the fraternity, Mike participated in many community service activities such as the March of Dimes in Newark, New Jersey and numerous voter’s registration drives.
Mike began his professional career at Cingular Wireless in Paramus, New Jersey. working with multiple cell phone technologies. He then took a position at Antenna Software in Jersey City, New Jersey where he worked on mobile device software.
Nia Haqq was born on May 6, 1984 in Hamilton, New Hersey. She attended North-Nottingham High School in Hamilton, New Jersey where she became active in a variety of extra-curricular activities. She participated in the marching band, softball team, peer leadership programs, minority mentoring program, step team and the Latin club.
In the fall of 2002, Nia enrolled at The College of New Jersey to pursue he Bachelor’s Degree. While majoring in Interactive Media, she was involved in a variety of organizations suchs as The Black Student Union, The National Society of Black Engineers and Minority Association of Pre-med Students. In addition to her school related activities, Nia also made time for community-based initiatives such as assisting in clothing drives at the Martin Center and helped local organizations build hones for the less fortunate in Trenton, New Jersey.
Nia graduated from TCNJ in 2002 and had begun working on obtaining her master’s degree in Business Administration from Kaplan University. Upon graduating from undergrad, Nia was an associate producer at Nickelodeon.
